A2 – More confidence, more vocabulary, more everyday German
You can introduce yourself and already understand the basics of the German language – but sometimes lack confidence in everyday situations? Then A2 is your next big step!
With the Alemania method, you learn quickly, reliably, and with great enjoyment. Our teachers build upon your existing knowledge and support you in clearly understanding new grammar and vocabulary – and applying it immediately.
What you can achieve in A2:
- You have longer, more spontaneous conversations in everyday life.
- You talk about your habits, plans, and experiences.
- You understand simple everyday and informational texts.

You use grammatical structures more confidently and in a more varied way, e.g.:
- Subordinate clauses with weil, dass, wenn
- Past tense (perfect) for experiences and events
- Comparative & Superlative (bigger, most important)
- Modal verbs in everyday life (must, may, should)
- You speak more confidently and notice how many things suddenly work "automatically".

Course information at a glance
Length of time
The complete A2 course consists of 3 modules of 40 hours each
→ a total of 120 hours of practical learning.
By registering, you are booking the first module. With Alemania, you always remain flexible: You can cancel your registration for the next module in writing up to 7 calendar days before the end of the current module. If no cancellation is received 7 calendar days before the end of the module, the course will automatically renew until all modules of a level have been completed.

We offer these A2 German courses
Depending on your life situation, we at Alemania German School adapt to your rhythm of life. You can book intensive day courses with us, which offer two hours a day. But we also offer evening courses and German courses on Saturdays so that you can quickly reach your German goal. If, however, an individual course is more suitable for you, we naturally also offer this option, even if you cannot attend our German school in Zurich, Bern or Lucerne.

Content and learning objectives German course A2
Reading and Listening
- I can understand individual sentences and common words about things that are important to me (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, work, local area).
- I understand the essence of short, clear and simple messages and announcements. I can read very short, simple texts. I can understand concrete information and short,
- simple personal letters in simple everyday texts (e.g. advertisements, brochures, menus or timetables).
Speaking
- I can communicate in simple, routine situations involving a simple, direct exchange of information and familiar topics and activities.
- I can hold a very short contact conversation but usually do not understand enough to keep the conversation going myself.
- I can describe in a series of sentences and by simple means, for example, my family, other people, my housing situation, my education and my current or most recent job.
Writing
- I can write short, simple notes and messages. I can write a very simple personal letter, e.g. to thank someone for something.
